Should Josh Taylor retire?

Queensberry Promotions - OVO Hydro Arena, Glasgow, UK. 24 | 5 | 25 Live on Dazn

1) Aloys Junior 9(8)-1-0 Vs David Jamieson 13(10)-3-0 AND THE WINNER IS... Aloys Junior by TKO in round 3.  This was a DEVASTATING knockout with Jamieson's head bouncing off the canvas and the ref calling it off VERY QUICKLY! He had been dropped twice in the fight already, so his legs probably were not fully there after, setting up the highlight reel KO for Aloys Junior, moving on to 10-1 with 9 KO's and some potentially big British clashes on the horizon. 60% of you voted for Aloys Junior FTW.

2) Reece Lynch had his pro Debut with a round 2 KO, with a sickening body shot, just before the bell. This tricky southpaw is one to watch with his speed, power and the angles he takes up! Granted, he was in there with a journeyman, but he has a solid amateur pedigree and has already shone bright at the Commonwealth Games. As a result, we will keep an eye out for him at other shows now and see how high he can reach as a pro!

3) Moses Itauma Vs Mike Balogun, AND THE WINNER IS... Itauma by TKO in round 2! Balogun was first rocked and then dropped shortly after in round 1, then dropped again in round 2 and stopped with an amazingly timed right hook from the southpaw position, which he could not recover from. Itauma certainly is a special operator and was not phased by the veteran, who was also a southpaw. Itauma moves on to 12(10)-0, only going the distance twice. He was lined up to fight Justis Huni, but Huni stepped in as a late replacement to fight his stablemate Fabio Wardley on June 7th instead. 66.7% of you voted for Itauma for the win.

4) Nathaniel Collins Vs Lee McGregor AND THE WINNER IS...  Collins by TKO! McGregor was dropped twice in the 4th round, and the 3rd time happened shortly after, and his corner threw in the towel. The fight looked quite evenly matched with him landing some big shots, but Collins' class showed, and the Scottish southpaw was too slick and quick! The fellow countrymen were mates before the fight, and will be after. McGregor beat Collins in the amateurs, and now it is 1-1. Collins would now like a world title fight, and you could not bet against him after a performance like that! 57.1% of you voted for McGregor to win.

5) Josh Taylor (19-2, 13 KOs) Vs Ekow Essuman (21-1, 8 KOs) AND THE WINNER IS... Essuman
116-113, 116-112, & 115-113 by UD. This was Taylor's Queensbury debut, and he looked sharp at the start with the additional 7 pounds. He seriously rocked Essuman at the start of the 4th, and the ropes kept him up, but he held on and then landed a big combo of his own after. Essuman took over the second half of the fight and lived up to his nickname 'The Engine'. Taylor stormed off after and did not address his Glasgow fans, and many pundits were stating he should retire as he looked extremely beaten up after. His left eye was very swollen, and there was a head clash that caused another big cut above the same eye. After he stated, "We will be back", he felt he was up at the halfway stage and added the points were too wide. He also stated, "I'll be back to the gym in a couple of weeks", as he felt inactivity was the main reason for his losses. 81.8% voted for Taylor to win!
